T.G.I.F.

The following post features student writing.

Today, we had an energizing and healthy breakfast of eggs, oatmeal, and—our trip specialty—peanut butter or Nutella on bread with Cornflakes on top. Following breakfast, we headed to the worksites. We split into three groups: one group made stencils and painted the basketball court and the other two groups put concrete floors in two different houses. After a long morning of work, we came back to the school for lunch and enjoyed rice, beans, salad, and two juicy, succulent mangoes given to us by locals. Then, we switched up the groups to complete the basketball court and the bigger of the two houses we had started this morning. The group at the big house stayed overtime because of it…what is it? The Grind. After finishing working, we had a relaxing afternoon full of doing laundry, taking showers, and playing basketball. We are currently heading to dinner because we are hardworking and hungry chiquitas. Following dinner, we will be singing karaoke, learning to dance Bachata with locals, and having our nightly meeting.
